Qivana – Interview Reveals Success Secrets

As a Qivana IBO success is on everyone’s mind. I recently had the pleasure and priviledge of interviewing Diane Drawdy, a fellow Qivana IBO. Diane has been my friend for over 30 years now. Diane and I first met as employees of St. Lucie County Bank in Fort Pierce, Florida. We have remained dear friends through the years. We have always kept in touch. We visit each other regularly either in her home state of Florida or my home in Mississippi. Diane is responsible for introducing me to the Qivana opportunity.

Our interview began by me asking Diane where she first learned about Qivana. She related how her son Chris Steele told her about a new exciting company. His friend, Stephen Douglas, son of Marshall Douglas (once a high ranking Diamond in Amway), had confided in him that something BIG was about to happen. Nothing was known about Qivana at the time, not even the name of the company, the CEO, or even what the products would be. But we did know from the conference calls that it was going to be huge news.

This is the point where my Qivana Success story begins. I was visiting Diane in February of 2009 when she told me of this new venture that she was excited about. None of us knew much at the time, but I have known and trusted Diane for over 30 years, so I put my misqivings aside and waited for all to be revealed. The middle of February was when the announcement was made. Our new company’s name was Qivana. The name Qivana is derived from combining Qi or Chi which is the Chinese word used to describe “the natural energy of the Universe and Vana from Nirvana, the perfect peace of the state of mind.

About a week later we got to meet the Qivana Corporate team during a conference call. This is the point where my Qivana success story gets very exciting. All the corporate officers are the top in their field.

Derek Hall, CEO, formerly CEO of McKesson Pharmaceutical Company. In addition, Derek was also the President and CEO for Nature’s Way, Botanticals International, Integrative Therapeutics, Unigen USA and Univera. Not to mention he was Vice President and CEO of Econet, Inc.

The CFO (Chief Financial Officer) is Devin Glazier. Before he came to Qivana Devin was the Sr. Financial Analyst at Novell and Sr. Director of Finance at XanGo. In addition to a B.S. in accounting, Mr Glazier holds an MBA from Utah State University.

The Chief Strategic Officer is Justin Banner. His former positions include the one he held at XanGo as VP of Strategy and Development. He graduated with a B.S. in finance from Brigham Young University and an MBA in Strategy and Marketing from Purdue University.

Rodney James is the Chief Sales Officer, Previously Rodney was the Director of Product Marketing at XanGo, Director of Marketing at VM Direct, and Director of Sales at NuSkin. Rodney holds a BS in Finance from the University of Utah.

Craig Johanson serves as Qivana’s Chief Marketing Officer. Prior to coming to Qivana Craig was the VP of Marketing at XanGo and Senior Brand Manager at Tahitian Noni International. Craig holds a B.S. in Marketing from Boise State University and an MBA from Utah State University.

If I had been excited before, I was really excited when I found out about these outstanding leaders.

My Qivana Success dream became a reality when I attended the pre-launch of Qivana in Atlanta. What energy and dedication this corporate team possessed! The presentation, the products, and the company leaders just blew us away. I left Atlanta knowing that I had found a business with the leadership and products I had been searching for.

This September Qivana had it’s official launch in Orlando, Florida and Diane was able to attend. My next question to her was what her impression had been of the official launch. She echoed my sentiments regarding the outstanding corporate team. Although she had been involved in network marketing before, she told me she had never felt such a sense of integrity in the corporate leaders or in the business owners themselves.

How to Build Your MLM Business

MLM is an excellent way for the “average Joe or Jane” to make an extra income. This business concept has been around for decades, and it will not disappear any time soon. The reason for its popularity is simple… It Works! It does however, require lots of work and most importantly, dedication and persistence to get the job done. The best part is, once you are able to set up a solid network, your business becomes MUCH less time intensive. Almost like going on “autopilot”. The key is to get there as fast as possible.

Tips To Maximize Your MLM Business:

1. Use your products regularly. This is Number 1 for a reason, this is the most ignored part of ANY MLM business. How do you expect your business to succeed if you will not even use your own products? It does seem silly to even have to bring this up, but there are many who are not using their own products, and wonder why they are not making any money. Make a commitment to use your products for a year, and see where your business goes.

2. Educate yourself constantly. This is very important! You must rid yourself of negative ideas, sometimes referred to as “stinkin thinkin”. This can be done in a variety of ways. I recommend reading at least 15 minutes a day, but try to shoot for 30. Business and self-help books are a great way to start. Don’t forget your Multi-level magazines, as they are full of tips and advice. Lastly, listen to cassette tapes on multi-level tips from top earners in your business.

3. Spend as much time as possible with your upline. Your upline should have only one goal in mind, To Help You Succeed! They are a vast source of knowledge and information. Mingle with top distributors in your group, or other groups, and ask how they made it. Most everyone should be more than happy to provide you with excellent tips and advice.

4. Present your products and marketing plan personally to at least one person daily. Remember above when I said you are going to have to work, well here it is. Now here is the key, the prospects to whom you present your plan, do not have to be yours personally. Show the plan for your downline, and not only will you create “security” by placing members in your downlines’ downline, it will also give you a boost in your personal income! I can guarantee if you were to follow this rule for 6 months, you would create a downline with enough width and depth to create an income to sustain you and your family for life.

5. Care for your downline. An entire book can be written on this topic. Usually, it’s the little things that show you really care. Try to maintain regular contact, and always praise your MLM distributor’s accomplishments. You can even offer incentives for specific achievements, such as money, travel, recognition, or other rewards, to help motivate your group.

6. Duplicate yourself by making distributors independent of you. This will help to multiply your time, thus making you and your group more effective. Always lead by example. Never stop recruiting, training and retailing. Remember the KISS formula – “Keep It Simple, Sweety” I know, I know, I changed the last word, but it maintains the meaning. This can be done my conducting simple, brief, yet dramatic presentations, and teaching your downline to do the same.

7. Create a large customer base. This is another largely ignored, yet very important, piece of your network marketing business. Many try so hard to build a huge downline, that they forget how much profit they could also make by selling their products to retail customers. Some people will just not want to become part of your downline, no matter how great a product/system you may have. This does not mean they will not be personally interested in your product. Try to make everyone your customer. Once you earn their trust, they will come to you more, and perhaps even join your MLM business later. Always “leave the door open”, as people’s needs do change.

Many people are still saddled with antiquated MLM training and ideas of how the old multilevel companies were run in the 60’s and 70’s. Remember that we are already in the new millennium, people.

And the trainings in MLM that we have today had already grown pass those times.

Some of the more successful marketers have the fortune to have undergone the proper MLM training to make them more profitable than others. What is the one secret they have learned in MLM training?

The secret is choosing a team with an experienced coach who will teach, guide and motivate you towards success.

Of course there are other factors to consider such as the financial backing of the company, timing, the compensation plan and marketing a consumable product. But if you are not properly trained and motivated during those early months you are almost doomed to failure.

But think about it. Every professional businessperson or athlete has a coach to aid in the training. Why should it be different in MLM marketing?

In MLM marketing, you can start your business for less than $500 and literally choose the coach or leader who will be training you. Of course this will involve doing a little background check on the team leader you choose to work with. But in the end, it will be a time worth spending.

If You Build It Will They Read?

Ok, I have been working on this blog design long enough. Now I have to finally start posting some blogs. I have quickly discovered that this is a very difficult thing to do. I know I have a lot to say and a lot of information to share, but it comes time to put “pen to paper” or “fingers to the keyboard” I have the classic writer’s (or in my case non-writers) block. In my preparation for launching a blog I read numerous articles about the art of blogging, blogging styles, blogging headlines, blah, blog, blah.

What I finally decided, against all advice to the contrary, is to just tell you my story. Don’t worry, not my life story (that would take several blogs and more time than you or I have).  By my story, I mean my experiences, setbacks, and discoveries since I have become an internet entrepreneur or “interpreneur” as I like to call it.

The most important thing I want to share with you is information. Information is power. I want to empower you, empower us, to be the best “interpreneurs” that we can be.  So, eventually, when people are actually reading my blogs and I am not just talking to myself, there will be value to what I have posted.

So, to all of you who are reading this at some future date, all of my future friends and colleagues,  I say welcome, make yourself at home, and let’s get to know each other. I love ya’ll already.

MLM – 6 Reasons That Make It The Perfect Business Model

I know that a lot of you are already involved in an MLM company or you are shopping around for a MLM company to hang your heart on. If you are like I was, you are nervous and anxious because, let’s face it, MLM’s or Network  Marketing companies have gotten some bad press. But after a lot of research into the nature of the MLM business I have found that it truly is “The Perfect Business Model.”  Let me tell you why I fell this way.

Multi-Level Marketing (aka MLM) has been around for decades and it is a tried and true way marketing technique to get products into the hands of consumers. I realize that the MLM business has gotten a “bum rap” from many over the years and yes, I must include myself in the naysayer’s list. I have heard MLM businesses called everything from a “pyramid” scheme all the way to a downright scam. Again, I myself have been guilty of this. But just recently my opinion was changed radically and it came about when I reunited with an old friend that I had once worked with in the banking industry.

Only because I knew and trusted her, when she mentioned the MLM word to me, I didn’t immediately throw my hands over my ears and run screaming for cover. I took the time to hear what she had to say. I soon realized a lot of what she was saying made perfect sense to me.

You see, recently I had sold my own retail business where my husband and I wore all the hats. I was CEO of procurement, inventory control, and the coffee maker. He was CEO of Sales and Vice-President of the Complaint Department. No aspect of the business escaped us, nor could we escape from it. If we stopped the business stopped and thus the income stopped. I must say it was an interesting and mostly profitable 30 years!

 All this being said, I will now  tell you why I think a MLM Business is the Perfect Business Model.

Reason #1 – Your Business is Run by Professionals

Who wants to wear all the hats? It is a full-time 24/7 JOB that you can never really shut down. Your primary MLM business has taken care of all of that. They are the ones that have invested their time and money on product research and development, inventory control, shipping and receiving.

You don’t have to handle returns or complaints, that is all taken care of by the MLM company.

Reason #2 – Small Initial Investment

Most network marketing businesses I have researched allow their representatives to quality for a very modest amount. This gets you started and your success is determined by YOUR efforts and results of those efforts. Sometimes you can get lucky and find that one person that will propel your team to the top or you might just be that person yourself.

Reason #3 – Leverage

There are only 24 hours in a day. One person (or two in our case) can only do so much. But in network marketing the power and leverage of multiplication is amazing. Two soon becomes four. Four becomes eight. Eight becomes 16 etc., etc.

Reason #4 – Possibility of Building a Significant Residual Income.

There is no way in retail sales to build a residual income. Sure, you can have loyal customers that come back to you year after year. But once you close your doors or retire, the income stops. Not so in network marketing. As your down line grows and as your MLM grows, your residual income taps into generation after generation of your down line. I know someone who is still receiving residual income from a MLM company that they were in 20 plus years ago. Now this is not a rule of thumb, it all depends on the MLM company you join. So let this be a very big factor in choosing what MLM you go with.

Reason #5 – Quality of Life

In a network marketing company, you are truly your own boss. Your achievements are based on the effort you put into building your business. When you are not working, your business is still growing. While you are spending time with your family, your business is still growing, and while you are sleeping your business is still growing.

Reason #6 – It’s FUN

A lot of people call this relationship marketing and I love that term. Because after all, it is all about relationships. From what I have experienced it is all about people helping people. If your down line doesn’t succeed, you don’t succeed. And the same can be said for your up line. Everyone pulls together to help each other and many strong and long-lasting friendships are formed. I heard one person say that the time that he had spent in the networking marketing business had changed his life forever. He felt as though he was a better and stronger person for having had the experience.
